Districts like Faugères, Saint Chinian and Pic Saint Loup have attracted attention. There are more and more A.O.C. (Appellations d'Origine Contrôlée) and many very good Vins de Pays d'Oc. Connoisseurs from all over the world are ranking Languedoc/Roussillion as one of the most important quality wine production areas.

We work closely with "Domaine de Brescou" in Alignan du Vent. A Swedish-owned estate with a very good reputation. When visiting houses, we offer regularly wine testing there. A speciality in our region is Picpoul de Pinet, a dry, white wine, which goes perfectly with oysters and fish.

In the region, vegetables, honey and olive oil are also produced. During the growing season, there are road-side markets everywhere. Good quality and low prices. Almost all villages have got street markets once or twice per week. The most well known are the Thursday market in Agde and the Saturday market in Pézenas.
Apart from food of all kinds, you will find wickerwork, clothing, souvenirs, tablecloths and many other things.

You can find mussels and oysters at about 3 euros per kilo at the market or amongst the fishermen by the sea.

The tourist season stretches from the end of May to the end of September. Many music and arts festivals are arranged everywhere. Pézenas is the home of the Mirondella del Arts with music, arts and events.
Pézenas is also very proud of Molière, the famous French playwright. He lived and wrote some of his eternal comedies here in middle of the 17th century.

For those fond of sailing, swimming or water activities in general, there are plenty of opportunities along the coast.

The region provides a variety of other spare time activities such as riding, canoeing, walking, cycling and golf. You will find many good quality courses with reasonable green-fees here.
